Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT) is an award–winning, innovative, science-based process used to manufacture our sustainable product, Ecoaggregate.
Using this advanced carbon capture method, thermal waste (fly ash) generated in waste treatment facilities, which would otherwise be sent to landfill, is treated with CO2, transforming it into a stable aggregate similar to limestone.
This process accelerates natural mineralisation that would normally take decades to produce.
Accelerating a Natural Reaction
In nature, certain minerals slowly sequester carbon dioxide converting them into solid carbonates. ACT compresses this longterm reaction into a matter of minutes, and the result is a permanent carbon – capture process that keeps CO2 securely stored within the Ecoaggregate.
