Sustainability is the guide to Biscay Eco Aggregates industrial model
Our project was born with the aim of demonstrating that it is possible to transform environmental challenges, such as CO₂ emissions and waste, into new resources for industry and construction.
Through waste recovery and carbon capture and use, we developed an industrial process that contributes to closing the cycle of materials, reducing the environmental impact of construction and moving towards a low-carbon economy. In this model, materials that were previously considered waste are converted into raw materials for new products with industrial value.
The Biscay Eco Aggregates project is part of an industrial ecosystem oriented towards the energy transition, decarbonization and the circular economy, where different sectors such as energy, waste management and construction, collaborate to develop more sustainable and resource-efficient solutions.
The positive environmental impact of this model can be clearly measured through the balance of materials, the reduction of emissions and the preservation of natural resources.

The carbonation process used in Biscay Eco Aggregates goes beyond avoiding emissions – it permanently, removes and stores carbon within the material itself. This permanent carbon removal is verified and recognised through International Carbon Removal registries.
Each credit represents one tonne of CO₂ removed and stored permanently allowing the positive climate impact of the industrial process to be recognised.
The generation of these Carbon Removal credits delivers additional benefits for sustainability.
